Catholic School For Me

Press Release -- 3/28/06 -- Catholic School For Me to Host Open Meeting at 7 PM on May 4, 2006 at St. Mary's in Edwardsville

Catholic School For Me (CS4ME) - a group of parents in Southern Madison County who are committed to Catholic K-12 education - will host an open meeting on Thursday, May 4, 2006 in St. Mary's (Edwardsville) cafeteria. All area parents and parishioners are invited.

The meeting agenda will include a review of what the group has accomplished in its first year including the formation of Catholic School For Me, the survey of area parents, the Metro-East Catholic high school fair, increased awareness, and research to date. And, a call for volunteers to join the group and help with our next task of answering the larger questions of where a new Catholic high school could be located, what it would cost to build, and what it would cost to support and operate.

CS4ME represents families primarily in the Edwardsville, Collinsville, Maryville, Glen Carbon, and Granite City areas of Illinois. This part of Madison county has 6 Catholic grade schools, but children from these schools do not attend Catholic high schools in significant numbers. CS4ME is hoping to change that by promoting current Catholic high school options to area parents and eventually founding a Catholic high school of its own in this growing area.
